I think they are degrading themselves. There are other ways to make money....it may be easy for me to say, since I live at home and I am in school, but nevertheless, I couldn't picture myself prostituting just to make a buck....you never know what kinds of diseases people may have.

It's a choice of profession someone chose to have. Some of these women are just any other women you might have met. It could be your neighbor even. Some women do this part time to make some extra money. I'm actually surprised how much some of these women are making. If you research on the subject "High Price Escort", you will be surprised that some of these women make way more than a lawyer or a doctor. Unbelivable ;)

There a plenty of good sociological articles about prostitutes. I used to think they were degrading themselves too, but after reading about it, nobody wants to sell their body for sex. Those who are referred to as "straight prositutes" are a small percentage of women who sell themselves simply for sex. In most cases, however, it's usually a last resort, a result of abuse, or because of drugs. It's quite sad and horrible the situtation their in. What's degrading is the men who are willing to pay for sex or willing to sell people out for sex.

I hate their occupation but empathize with their circumstance. You never know how far a person has come or what they have been through until you have walked in their shoes. Most come from abusive families. You know?
You tell me.... What is the difference in the woman who stands on the corner selling her body and the woman on the job or in the boardroom selling hers?

You will eventually prostitute yourself in a more demeaning manner, trust me on this one! Do you not degrade yourself when you allow your parents to yell at you for no reason? Do you not degrade yourself when you allow your boyfriend to abuse you verbally? Do you not degrade yourself when you let your friend copy from you in school?

they are desperate enough to look for a decent and noble job or maybe that is really their choice. You really can't judge them bad because they may have a valid reason why they are doing that.
