"awkward moment" is a moment of self-consciousness or embarrassment. Example: your new boyfriend hugs you really hard and you just had beans at lunch so a noisy and smelly fart launches. Awkward.

An "awkward moment" is a moment when there is no reasonable answer for what was previously said.

Let's say that a group of friends are talking. And then one of them makes a homophobic remark, without knowing that another member of this discussion is gay. However, everyone else is aware of this, but no one wants to say anything, in fear of making the situation worse. This is an example of an "awkward moment."

an awkward moment is when two or more people are having a conversation and someone brings up one of those topics that shouldn't be discussed in that situation. For example, say that two people are talking about a third person, and then right as they say something somehwat offensive about that person, the third person approaches and catches the last part of the conversation. This usualy leads to an "awkward silence" where no one wants to admit to what just happened so they just stare at their feet (so to speak).

An awkward moment is just that- where something really really inapproiate to the situation happens. Like a vibrator falling out of your pocket in church and rolling down the aisle. Or calling someone "Mister", when its a woman. See what I mean?

i assume you are a very young person who hasnt had any real life experiences yet to be asking such a question. either look up the word awkward in the dictionary and pray it never happens to you, or just keep on living because you will know it when it happens to you and unless you live under a rock, it WILL happen! then after it does, just learn to laugh at yourself from then on because even God has a sense of humor.

Awkward moment is pretty much self-explanatory eg. sharting at the dinner table at your in-laws', projectile vomit at communion time in church, heavy period/no pad/white pants, telling your boss' wife congrats on the pregnancy and she's not etc...
