No. He is not a proved QB. You cant even compare him with Carr because Carr has more starting years.

The potential for Schaub is immense, especially since he fared extremely well in his few outings whether he won or lost. The gamble for Schaub is a calculated and smart move on Houston's part ... for the positional quality.
The problem with the Texans is not the QB though, but the Offensive Line. Houston could have gotten Peyton Manning, but without an offensive line, Manning would be hitting the ground a lot more. Houston needs to bulk the O-Line up quickly and even snag Levi Brown in the draft. Without a good offensive line, the offense itself breaks down regardless of who is leading the way.
Schaub, however, does possess the better arm in both strength and accuracy. Sadly though, Atlanta has now placed all of its faith in Michael Vick ... and he has yet to come close to his esteemed potential. The question of the gamble being worth it falls more on Atlanta's shoulders than it does on Houston's.

I think Schaub will do better than Carr. I know he only has a limited number of starts but I think Houston feels that they need new life at QB and right now Schaub is better than any QB that is in the draft right now that the Texans would be able to get with their 8th round pick.
Plus I'm happy that the trade is done because I'm a Falcon fan.

Hard to say. The Texans gave up an awful lot for him, and it would be hard for a proven QB to justify the gamble, much less an unproven QB like Schaub. I think he'll be better than Carr, but if the offensive line doesn't improve soon, look for Schaub to get as many grass stains as touchdown passes.

Who knows my friend thats why they call it a GAMBLE. I personally think they are giving up a lot for him... and the deal isnt even set in stone yet they still need to sign him to a long term deal or it wont go through.
I think he will do bad in Texas though. Carr isnt the problem its the offensive line. He got sacked more than anyone else so he doesnt have a lot of time to make good throws like a Tome Brady or Payton Manning does. Remember the beginning of last season? Carr lead the NFL in passer rating after the first few games. Then teams started blitzing the qb almost every play because they had no running back. They should keep their pick and maybe trade up for Brady Quinn or snag Troy Smith late. I wouldn't give up 2 picks this year and two next year for him. Look at their second round pick last year he was the defensive rookie of the tear so they have a good eye for talent.

Absolutely. The Texans know what they are getting with Carr; why would you even think twice. Schaub may not have as many starts, but that is not a reason to stay with a proven loser like Carr.
If David Carr has potential let him prove it in Detroit.

Schaub is not much faster or better at throwing the ball while he is on his back. Either way the Texans need a line before they start blaming any qb for there problems. don't forget Carr threw at 60% completion ratio

Carr had somthing missing that Schaub doesn't. Carr isn't bad but Schaub will definantly help them out. He has an ability to escape the pocket when he needs to which is good for the O-line and from when I've seen him play I think him and Johnson will get along just fine.

they're certainly my %. for the AFC this year because of fact i think of that the Broncos are extremely puffed up and the Patriots would be there, yet it is by technique of the fact they have a shitey convention. If the Texans can beat them then they are able to make it. i will say even although that the AFC is extremely very susceptible while in comparison with the NFC. i think of the 49ers, Seahawks, Packers or perhaps the Falcons can beat very practically any team from the AFC. I foresee an NFC great Bowl Winner.

I dont think that schaub is a risk at all. I believe that the true risk for any nfl quarterback is trying to play behind that horrible excuse for an offensive line in houston

i like schaub and he shouldve been the starter in atlanta,
but that O-line in houston is so bad that they need a back up when Carr gets crush some more this year they will have a back up to get crushed as well.
