They aren't completely over you and they use the children has a way to show that she is in control of something/someone. Don't give in to her childishness..the state will make sure that you obtain your parental rights. The best way to get to a person is to ignore their petty gestures. Let her be ignorant, your child(ren) know that you love them...In time you will have them without having to deal with her at all. Don't give in, don't argue, stay calm, patient, and everything will work itself out. She's yearning for attention.

i have never been divorced, but do have 3 kids, and women only trust themselves with their kids. They want to ensure themselves that their kid actually eats dinner not a hersheys bar, and that the kid gets a bath. We just want the best for our children, and we know that men, are still children themselves. It is in the best interest of the children. Plus men cant multitask like us girls can. We can be cooking dinner holding a baby, chasing the dog, doing homework, talking on the phone, and mopping the floor all while putting on mascara. Now u tell me what man can do all that at one time.

Why would you say that as if ALL women are like that? Some are just like that....and others great.
Assuming there is no reason for you not be with your child, I hope it works out for you. The judge will typically rule 50/50 these days unless one party is pretty screwed up.

Really? I've only seen men do that. In a disturbing way, it's nice to know that both sexes are capable of such disgusting, sociopathic, cruelty.
They do it because children are the biggest pawn that can be used against someone with a feeling heart.

Gee I guess I just got lucky mine just left all of us. No big deal we all remained normal and happy. Anyway the most important thing to remember after it is all shouted and done is that she is still their mother. No matter who has custody never talk bad about your ex, either wife or husband. Your kids will hear it and in the long run it will hurt them too.
Also remember not matter what they are still your kids show them the love you have for them.

Some women do that because that is their only way for controling the father of their children. Sad but true.

because the love of the mother is far more nurturing than the father. There is no bond like that of the mother and her child. a man has no clue because he is not able to carry a child for 42 weeks. by hostage, i am assuming that you mean she get custody.....she only wants to protect her child and that is all.

Not all women do this........just so you know......and men do it too and even though some of us think it is rediculous it will continue to happen over time and there is nothing we can do about it.....and you asking why do we as though every poster on here is a woman that would even consider this.....should be shamed.....not every woman is like that and maybe you should have been more selective when choosing yours!!!!!!!!!

I think it is due to immaturity and lack of consideration. The kids are the ones that ultimately suffer and to top it off this behavior causes trauma which they will have to carry on to adulthood.

Hi its called i threw your butt out now im gonna make you suffer some more. Control issues. Cant control you anymore so going to control you through the child. Does it hurt you, if yes she wins, do you fight, if yes you are giving her attention. Stroke the ego of controlling woman.....fight with her. Do yourself a favor get a lawyer.
