for example we call it soda here on the west coast, it's pop or something like that on east coast.

These are Southeastern terms which are not common on the west coast and probably nowhere else but in the south.

And this is no disrespect for the area for it's my home.

ABIDE: tolerate, as in "I can't abide by the rules.
ACT UP: misbehave, as in "You boys sure act up."
CONNIPTION: fit of anger
FIRED UP: excited, motivated, as in "We’re all fired up to win."
GUMPTION: guts, as in "Only the church has the gumption to change the world." (has nothing to do with Forrest)
MOSEY: amble about in no particular hurry
OWN UP: confess
RILED UP: angry or upset

East coast! there is SOOO plenty to do in long island city - i've got not been there for a minimum of 8 years (huge apple, thay is), yet there is SOOO plenty to do there & long island has the final pizza (the slices are extensive!) & there isn't something like a protracted island city pretzel for under a $a million (i replaced into in Queens like a week in the past, hadn't had a million in YEARS!) and there is not something like the buzz of watching a Mets interest (too undesirable Shea Stadium's long previous!)...there is Rockefeller middle with ice skating & the large Christmas Tree & the Macy's abode windows at Christmastime, the 4th of July fireworks, all the parades & the ball drop on New 3 hundred and sixty 5 days's Eve, then there is Broadway exhibits, museums & SOOO plenty extra! I purely wish it replaced into heat right here all 3 hundred and sixty 5 days long, I HATE snow & chilly climate!

It's funny you say that because I'm from Upstate NY and "pop" sounds just as foreign to me. The only time I've ever heard soda called "pop" was in Niagara Falls, Canada. I was in California last spring and there weren't any speech clashes that I picked up on.

**I call them "sprinkles", too......maybe that's more of a regional thing.

One time when I was traveling asked some one where the bathroom was and they looked at like I spoke another language. I found out later that everyone in that area referred to as a washroom.
