i have a bt home hub and i have been considering changing my router but i dont beleive its the hubs fault, yes some of the hubs are terrible but 90% of them are ok
the problem seems to lie with the increased amount of network traffic, especially at peak times,bt never predicted that so many people would sign up to broadband and to be honest the cables and network system bt have at the moment is just not up to it
until bt upgrade their network and change all the old type cables then the network will just continue to get bogged down and speeds will continue to fall
i get on average around 350kbps download speeds but i can increase these to 500kbps using a download manager called gigaget(http://www.download.com/Gigaget-Download-Manager/3003-20_4-10503295.html),this splits your downloads into several parts and downloads them from different locations, then joins them back together at the end,its a simple method but really efficent
i would,nt bother changing your router,in my opinion all routers are the same, its the network thats to blame for slow speeds, however if your wireless networking then a good netgar wireless router is a good idea as wireless routers differ, for example the bt home hub is a middle of the road wireless router were as linsky and belkin do exellent wireless routers and devices
i hope this helps
good luck

i assume you mean a bluetooth home network hub? bluetooth is kinda slow for that application. I would suggest getting Ethernet enabled on your computer and connect to a proper network router, such as a linksys router. also, typical home broadband connections are far slower than your home network, so you still might not see a gain in speed.
