I remember back in the late 80's and early 90's that Goths were much older and much more mature...
What happened??

Maybe its just that as we get older they seem younger. But, yes, I think you're right. Back in the day, 13-year-olds didn't call themselves goth, now they do all the time. Like they even know what it means. The gothic "look" became popular, so teens pretend to be goth, which has made many of the real adult goths stop looking goth because they don't want to be associated with the angst ridden teens. But real adult goths are still out there. I know plenty who are in their 30s, 40s, even 50s.

Your just getting older. I always found them to be narcissistic and annoying. I always thought it was a kids thing. Myself I am an adult now and find silly clics like that well...silly.
In my day it was stoners, mods, surfers, jocks, skaters, punks etc.
But once someone Truly grows up one finds we are just people.

Kids starved for attention is what happened. Parents just don't care anymore.
