It is legal to have your high beams on during the day on a motorcycle in California.

Not sure about night time though.

I'm sorry but I don't have an answer to that question. I will say that I do it all the time in NY. I dont care if it is legal or not. Drivers don't pay enough attention so I would rather be safe than sorry, or dead.

If your interested, you can install a headlight modulator. It varys the beam of the headlight so the headlight is almost flashing but at a much slower rate.
Here's an article on it.

I forgot to add.. there are certain bikes where you can actaully damage the electical system by running the high beams all the time.

It is not legal to ride around with your high-beams on because it causes other drivers to temporarily go blind if it hits the eyes just right. Have you ever been in front of a person with their high-beams on the whole time...its not fun because you cant even look out of your mirrors due to the bright light. Call the DOT if you want a true answer.

not adviseable to ride with high beams on at night behind or incoming on a cage, but in the daytime, i run my high beams religiously. it helps cagers to see u in the daytime much easier than being in 'low beam'. i notice this quite often. i will see a bike sooner and at much farther range if he runs on high beam than low, especially the ultra thin profile a sport bike has. bikes that have a modulating head light will be painted even quicker.

daytime...legal and highly suggested. night time...not adviseable.

Just look at it this way...
Do you like it if some one has high beams on you???
During the day time I understand that is more as a safety issue but at night you can blind some one and they can do more harm to you if they are blinded... don't you agree???

you could actually argue the value ticket, quite if what you have been noted for is a few thing you weren't in violation of. likelihood is which you will flow to court docket, the choose will ask your part, the cop the two wont happen, or have a narrative of what exceeded off that differed from what you have been noted for, and that is going to be over. If the quotation is incorrect, then you definately are actually not to blame for THAT quotation, consistent with errors. that doesn't propose you're interior the 'suitable,' it replaced into purely an errors that occurs to be on your prefer.

In the day it does not matter, but at night it is illegal. read your highway safety books available at your local DMV. Your vehicle cannot have it's hi-beams on when you are certain distances from other vehicles.
