what about a leased car used/bought solely for going to work(of course some pleasure is in the drive)? how do you determine how much to deduct?

yes they are if you have to travel over 100 miles in a day to work. i prepare taxes for a living so trust me on this...however, there are many deductions that people don't know about for work. Uniforms, health insurance, uniform cleaning, tools, utensils, union dues, etc. are all tax deductible. If you have any more questions feel free to contact me! I hope I helped a little, good luck!

if you are going to clients yes, home office no.
if you are going from job 1 to job 2 the distance between those those 2 locations are deductible

You can't use the expense of getting to work but if you have a travelling job like sales you can use the expense of the use of the vehicle while at work.

only if you own your own business OR you are using it as a business expense...example your in real estate sales, etc. ..you can't claim any personal travel expenses, even if it's how you get to work

None of that is deductible. Commuting costs are not deductible at all.
