If you can not handle blood and gore, then it may not be a great idea to watch it. But there is always the option of leaving the room when you can't take it anymore. I watched and it is truly amazing. It really does show the essence of Christ's love for us, that he would go through that brutal torture to save us!!! I was truly moved & changed through this film!

I saw this movie twice, and as graphic as it was, it still wasn't anywhere where it needed to be as far a what Jesus went through, however I am kind of glad in a way because I don't think I could have beared to see much more. I cried a lot. It gave me a new found respect for my Savior to see what He went through, or at least part of it.
I could handle the gore just fine, but it was more the emotional earthquake of ALMOST being there and seeing all that was done to Him. I walked out thanking Jesus that He took my place on the cross.
I don't own this movie. If I ever do, I know it is something I couldn't watch on a regular basis just because of how emotional it is for me.
It was definately the most well done I have ever seen the crucifixion so far.
If you choose not to watch it, I reccomend some music videos that have scenes from the passion that are extremely powerful. Not as graphic because they aren't in their entirety, but still powerful:

I wasn't impressed by it at all. It was way too ritualistic for me.
I wanted to see Jesus preach. It was very "Catholic" and they're is nothing wrong woth that it was just quite obvious that is what Mel was trying to show you. I just to feel what I feel when I read the Bible and with the exception of the torture they did to him I did not feel anything from this movie.
Someone needs to make a movie about Jesus that actually has people from the middle east playing people who lived in the middle east and showing his love for people. It would have been so great to see what the Bible tells in that movie like the Sermon on the Mount and the disdain Jesus felt towards the wealthy, arrogant and powerful of that day and the love he felt for us the love we should show each other. It would have shown a direct correlation between those days and these days. I'm sorry but the "Passion of the Christ" wasn't for me.

I think it's pretty brutal as far as what Jesus went through physically, but I think you should experience it for yourself. If you're familiar with the stations of the cross, it's the same thing, but more graphic. I'm not a big fan of blood and gore movies, but this is a great movie.

I hate blood and gore as well, but I must say the impact is a little different when watching The Passion of the Christ. (At least for me, since I am Catholic.) If you really get squeamish, I would suggest passing on it, but if you think you could brave it just this once, I would say it is well worth it.

I think you should see this movie ONLY if you don't mind too much blood and gore. It has a good message to it and shows you what Jesus went through. I don't have any regret for seeing it because I don't mind blood and gore.

It is a movie interpreted by a director and I feel truly shows an accurate account on the torture suffered by Jesus. I loved the movie. It is a bit bloody, but if you know the story, it was a bloody time for him. He suffered greatly for us.
I think you should see the movie and remember what it is all about.

It is an incredibly gory and bloody film. If you're sensitive to it, or get queasy easily, I'd opt out. However, it is also an incredibly well made film, regardless of your own religious beliefs. Plus, the movie is done in Aramaic (with bits in Hebrew and Latin) which is just cool. (Yep, I was a dorky linguistics and religion nerd in college.)

Very bloody and brutal. I don't understand why people get so excited about this movie, as if Jesus was the only person ever to be put through that. Doesn't anyone know anything about history?
I wish I hadn't bothered, I'm not Christian and this message was most definitely not for me.

I have never seen it which is unusual for me because I will watch anything at least once on that kind of scale, but I have no desire to watch a epic bible lesson with a ton of blood just for the sake of having blood. There's just something about the movie and Mel Gibson that turns me off. He's a rich blowhard with no artistic merit.Besides the whole scheme of the movie seems to shove the word of Jesus down your throat and If you don't like it you must be lost......or something to that effect.
