Access to the Tower Observation Deck is possible via a tour only. Please see our schedule page for our new tour schedule.

Reserve A Ticket
You can reserve one or more tickets in person at the Texas Union Information Center in the Texas Union building on the corner of 24th Street and Guadalupe or by calling 475-6633 (1-877-475-6633), Mon.-Fri., 8 AM to 5 PM. Under the direction of the fire marshal's ruling, all guests, regardless of age, from newborns to seniors, must present a ticket to accompany the tour. Tickets are $5.00 (five dollars) per person, payable by cash, check or MasterCard/VISA. Reserve your ticket now! We're frequently booked a week or more in advance!

Ticket Purchase & Pickup
Ticket purchase and pickup occur only on the day of your scheduled tour. Tickets must be claimed at the Texas Union Information Center at least 20 minutes before your tour time or your reservation is forfeited.

Location and Parking Information
Please follow the Location and Parking link for further information.

Standby List
Unclaimed tickets are sold to a waiting list 10 minutes before each tour time. You may sign up on this list on a walk-up basis at the Texas Union Information Center starting one hour before a scheduled tour.

Guidelines
These are escorted tours which last slightly less than an hour, with 35 minutes spent on the Observation deck. You won't need anything on the Deck besides a ticket-except perhaps a camera, binoculars or video recorder. You are asked to leave behind everything else, including purses, camera bags, fanny packs, and diaper bags. If you do not want to leave these items in your vehicle, you can rent a locker at The Texas Union for $1.00. Due to safety concerns, umbrellas are not permitted on the tour; however rain ponchos are available to rent for $1.00 at the Information Center in the Texas Union. Please see the complete Tour Guidelines, available at the Union Information Center, for further details.

Gain a new perspective of the University of Texas and surrounding community while visitng UT's landmark Tower. Reopened after nearly 25 years, the Tower observation deck offers grand vistas of the campus and Austin. Public access to the observation deck is available only via escorted tours due to safety and security concerns.

The Tower houses UT administrative offices, so tours are not conducted during working hours. Tours are conducted weekends and on selected evenings during the summer. Tour hours correspond to daylight savings time so sunset tours can be offered.

Advance reservation of tickets is strongly recommended. Call 475-6633 (Austin) or 1-877-475-6633 (toll free).

The observation deck reopened several years ago, so tours are now available. It's the only way you'll be able to get up there. Here is the Web site with information about the tours:
