Dookie was one of the last true "whole albums". I don't care what genre you like, its rare to put in an album, push play and back off from the player until the final hidden track fades. With American Idiot close to achieving that same feat, I'd say they are a great band. Nothing entirely unique, but they make those repeated punk rythyms work in a way only Green Day can. Definetely one of the top 5 generation defining artists of the 90s.

I'm not trying to be rude or anything but if Green Day's songs relate to how your life is that's kind of sad. I don't really like them because their lyrics are bad. The only song I like from Green Day is Holiday.

No, you're not the only one. I enjoy listening to their songs once in a while too, and I know plenty of other people who do as well. Their songs relate to many peoples' lives, like "Boulevard of Broken Dreams."

Green Day's big year was probably in 2005.
I liked them then, but now they're a thing of the past to me.
There music is pretty good though.

ME TOO CAN RELATE TO EVERY SINGLE SONG OF THEIRS.
PEOPLE THINK THEY ARE NOT PUNK, BUT I THINK THE ABILITY TO PLAY SO MANY DIFFERENT GENRES IS JUST GREAT!!
Theey ARE ALSO A GREAT BAND FOR THE COMMUNITY, THEY JUST FINISHED "SAINTS ARE COMING" and now they are working "WORKING CLASS HERO"

Probably no one will admit that they like them, but everyone used to love their songs so they all secretly like Green Day. They are probably making a new song and everyone will love it.

anyway.. yea.. i like a lot of their older music better than their newer, however, i love how their new music is a bash against bush, i mean they SHOULD be able to share their opinions and it's great that they did!!! i can't wait for their new album!!!
