Hello I live in the Saint Petersburg Florida area and I’m looking for someone who can instruct/ teach me anything that deals with tattooing. Including how to be sterile, what kind of license I would need and so fourth. I want to know everything needed to be a safe and creative tattoo artist, if there is anyone in the area who can show me a think or two I would appreciate it greatly, I already have my own tools but they remain unused until I get proper instruction thanks,

Ps for everyone who suggest an apprenticeship I’ve checked into it and have turned up nothing other then the shop wanting 8-10 thousand dollars in advance. I don’t have that kind of money so I’m looking for tattoo vets with experience who can teach me outside of a shop on

Being that you live in Florida, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a good tattoo artist to teach you the skill. I would suggest that you maybe scout out some of the area or State tattoo shops and see if any one is willing to take the time and teach you. If you have no luck, and probably you'll get this response anyway, may I suggest that you .get some flash art and some tracing paper, learn to trace and hone you skills for steadiness and concentrate on that. It is extremely essential that you have a steady hand at this skill. Something similar to a surgeon. As for someone telling you that they want to charge you to learn the skill, that's not right. In my early days I never had an experience as that. If you are having that kind of trouble, just do what I suggested and periodically, take your finished drawings to a local tattoo artist and ask him if he has a few minutes to critic some of your work. And don't be discouraged if you have errors. Its all about the detail!!!
