Getting teeth already!??!?

Question

My baby is six months old and just cut her first tooth. It's not all the way in but the top is white and its sharp.
I thought babies didnt get teeth until they are older. Is this even normal?
How long is it going to take to come in all the way? Will she be fussy the whole time?

The tooth will come in in 1-7 days. That probably isn't hurting her, what is hurting her is that teeth tend to come in 2-4 at a time.

Babies cut their first teeth between 4 months and 14 months.

Every baby is different, and six months isn't too early I had a friend whos baby was born with 2 teeth on the bottom ( not good for the teeth they ended up rotting out) but in your case it is perfectly normal my 2nd child wasn't fussy at all while teething but my other 3 were miserable until the tooth broke the skin... It shouldn't take too long now and since it sounds like the tooth has broken skin she should start feeling better soon.....

My daughter is five months old and just started cutting her first tooth this morning. Six months is pretty normal, though it could take almost a year for all her teeth to fully come in. I would keep a supply of teething rings in the fridge and baby orajel on hand- it bothers some babies more than others, so take some precautions in case your baby is fussy about it.

No that is not too young, it varies by kids, mine did not cut teeth until around 10 months but I was told that was late. It can take a month or so to come all the way in, and in my experience the fussy can stay the whole time, she will probably start cutting more also. Get teething tablets, that is what it says on the box "Teething Tablets" they are all natural and were a life saver for me. I got them at Wal-Mart. You can also give Tylenol/Motrin for pain, but check with the Dr. on how much.

Yes, it is normal. Babies all develop and grow teeth in at different ages. My first daughter got her first tooth at 4 1/2 months old. My second daughter got her first tooth around 6 months. My first daughter had all of her teeth in by 15 months, while my second daughter didn't have them all until she was closer to two. It just depends on your baby. She will have fussy times, yes. If it bothers her too much, try giving her some infant tylenol. Good luck with it!

Every baby is different. My little girl was actually born with two teeth that she still has (she is three years old)
But it is actually normal to get teeth between 4 to 7 months. Whether or not she will be fussy just depends. My little one gave me no trouble at all- like she wasn't teething.

Completely normal! It depends on the child how long it will take for them all to come in. She may or may not be fussy the whole time, some teethe very easily.

Some babies are born with teeth, others don't get them until wayyyy later than yours is getting hers.

Your baby is actually a late bloomer. Both of my children had their first two teeth by the time they were 5 months old. My mom said my first tooth came in at 2 months old. I guess it depends. It's not that your child is slow or anything, this is normal development. Thank you and GOD bless.

Each baby is different. My son is 7 mo and he just got his first tooth 2 weeks ago, but was teething for 1 mo before it showed up. I can't remember how long it takes to come all they way up. I think it will be all the way through by Mid April however I'm just guessing.

They get their first teeth at six months, perfectly normal.
It depends on your baby if she will be fussy all the time. It could take days or weeks until it comes up all the way.
