I take it he is formula fed? In that case, I'd call your pediatrician and tell them what he's eating. They can tell you if that's normal or not. He is too young for cereal, and I'd suggest you not put cereal in his bottle ever, because you want him to learn to take it from a spoon (who wants to have to work to eat off of a spoon if they can just drink it?:)). If you don't feel comfortable asking your pediatrician (which you should, never be embarassed to ask!) then, I'd suggest your feed your baby boy some more.

It's possible he's just a chow-hound, especially if he's a big baby! I wouldn't worry too much about it at such a young age. Best of luck!

I do not think he is old enough for cereal, if I remember right they need to be at least 6+ months, I would give him 6 oz and call the Dr. it can really mess with their stomaches if you feed them too early (ceral, baby food etc)

NO CEREAL!!!! He is not ready for that.. If he is hungry, he is hungry.
6oz every 2-3 hours is pretty average. Try that for a week and see what happens. If he loses interest after the 6 oz, then you are good. if he is still scarffing, then make it 7.

Cereal is not until about 5-6 months.

My 2 month old eats about 3 1/2 - 4 oz. at every feeding. Sometimes more, sometimes less. You baby is normal. I wouldn't give him cereal yet - the AAP recommends that the child be at least 4 months. Just give him more/less when he wants it......I think at this point, anything is normal:) Congrats on the baby boy!!!

I wouldn't give him Cereal. He is too young, and it might make him constipated. He could very well be wanting more milk, though. My nephew was eating over 6 ounces at a feeding at that age. I am sure my 2 month old daughter does, but I breastfeed, so its hard to tell. I would go ahead and give him more if he's hungry.

you could go ahead and up it. my three month old was like that, but my doctor said he still needs to be fed on demand and not to add cereal until at least he's four months and his tongue thrust reflex goes away( when he pushes everything out with his tongue). i read a book that said on average, newborns need about 2-2.5 ounces per pound in 24hours. just go with your instincts, you'll know when he's eating too much.

he cannot digest formula at this age. give him as much milk as he wants. 6 oz or more is fine.
