I didn't know where else to post this on Yahoo Ans. So i thought i'd take a shot here.
Basically i have a huge/major fear of bugs and found this lil critter on my doorframe. I have never seen a bug like this before. I'm deathly afraid of spiders so i'm hoping this isn't just a funky gone wrong version of one but my husband (A native Texan) has never seen this thing before either. I have a feeling it came from the attick, i had to get the bassinet out this morning and i've seen tiny spiders up there before with no color to them at all, they're white like this bug-is it harmful? thought i'd ask here anyway, i know this isn't the right section, but, i have two baby girls crawling, i'd hate for them to get close to this wierd thing. And please, no idiotic/immature/stupid responses!!
Click/Copy paste the link to see this thing....

From what I can see it is a spider. I can't tell what kind it is, but to be safe you might want to take it to an exterminator or the local high school science teacher. They will be more able to tell you what it is. The markings on the spider's back gives me a bit of concern. If it is fiddle shaped, pointing to the rear, it is possible that it is a brown recluse. But the body size and legs size don't seem to fit the brown recluse. Best of luck with it.

Sorry to say but this deffinatley is a spider its just missing some legs from something! i live in NY and we have alot of spiders that look like this but I'm not sure if it's posinous or anything so I would still suggest getting it out of the house because someone could get hurt! hope this helps! =)

I believe it is a spider, just with bad luck (hence the missing legs).

Keep an eye out for Brown Recluses though, since you mentioned Texas.

It's a spider that is missing some legs.
It's not a black widow or brown recluse (fiddleback). And it's not a tarantula. I can assure you of that much.
But I don't know its species.
Those are the only spiders I know of that are dangerous to humans in the U.S.

yep, looks like a spider to me who has seen better days given that he's missing so many legs! Actually, given the size, it's probably a she.

That's a spider, you can tell from those mandibles. Missing some legs, but a spider nonetheless.

It is a spider. They generally leave you alone.
