I went on vacation and decided to keep going with my birth control pills I unfortunately started spotting half way through the pack. I am getting married in May and I do not want to be on my period then, any suggestions? Keep going and not stop them to see if I will stop spotting, or just stay off the pill until then and then start all over again?

I take the pill continuously all the time. My doctor purposely told me to do that, to cure my endometriosis. It is not dangerous or harmful to your body if you don't have a period. Think about the fact that women don't have a period for ten months while they're pregnant, and then for however long until they stop breastfeeding.

I find that on the rare occasion when I forget a pill and start spotting, it's easier just to stop taking the pill until your period ends, then start taking it again. Otherwise, you just continue spotting for a long time.

I take a four pack cycle where i only take the active pills for four packs and the inactive week at the end of the four pack. It's to help regulate my mood swings. I was on allesse 28 following this cycle for a year and spotting on the thrid and fourth pack isn't uncommon. Doesn't nessicarily mean it isn't working (i haven't gotten pregnant) but it is annoying. They told me I could add one pack of pills and do 5 in a row before my wedding and i did fine. I would worry about doing 6 without asking someone though. I just went for my yearly exam and my new provider stuck me on Yasmin which is a little bit higher of a does. And should control the spotting even through the 84 day cycle. Even though your spotting continue to finish your pack of pills, if you decide to start the new pack of pills you'll probably stop spotting for a week and start spotting about the same day that you did this time. Your pills are still working as long as your taking them and make sure you take them the same time every day or that could also be causing the spotting. Call your doctor and ask, they'll be able to tell you over the phone what to do. I hope that helps you out. And good luck to you and yours for your wedding. :)

I think you need to see a doctor about this one. It could be you may need another type of pill.. either way speak to you doctor before your wedding..

Also my doctor told me only skip one period and make sure you have it next time. Skipping it more then once is bad for your body (not to mention the fact that my period is ten times worse the month after i skip)
