I use to have windows XP. Now i have Vista and my modem doesn't work anymore. I don't have the drivers and can't find them on the web for Vista. Windows is suppose to detect it alone, but since i can't go on the internet, What do i do ???

Go watch TV, maybe go out to dinner or the library? One thing is for sure, you ain't getting back on the internet with that computer until you get the modem working with Vista!

Dump your modem and get a Vista-certified modem. Unless you can wait for your modem manufacturer to come out with Vista drivers for your model. And that may not even happen.

Vista is not like past versions of Windows that you can just thrown on any PC and make it work. It's barely been out so there will be many incompatibilities. I would dump Vista and go back to XP and wait for the first service pack to come out.

check with the modem manurfacture site for them. if they are not there, then you won't get them for possibly months. i keep telling people not to get vista for another 6 months because drivers are not written for alot of hardware. vista shouldn't have been releast for another year because of the problems such as yours. go back to XP and wait until things are ready to work with vista.you can also try and find a modem written for vista.

From what I've heard about Vista, if you don't have the drivers they probably don't exist yet. Best bet is to wait til they do by using XP. Or maybe pop in one of those free AOL disks and get it through dial up?
