Hair loss usually results from the male hormone testosterone and the only proven way to prevent hairloss or to halt its advance is castration. I'm concerned that you emphasise the fact that you "think" you are balding. Do you mean that other people are unable to notice? At your age your body is changing in many ways as it goes through the last big surge to adulthood. Some of these changes can make a dramatic difference to your overall body shape including your facial features so it's possible that you simply seeing that change. If you feel that your forehead is higher than it was then this could be the reason. Hairloss can also be a symptom of some illnesses or even a side effect of medication or may result from contact with certain toxins so if the hair loss is patchy or is otherwise worrying you then you should make an appointment with your regular doctor.

Melatonin works pretty well, so does Valerian though that's getting harder to find. Serequil is really good too, but don't take it unless you are going to be able to sleep solidly for at least 8 hours cause it knocks you out. Some other methods are doing 15min of yoga before laying down, or reading a book. Meditation is great for calming the mind too. I have really bad insomnia as well and sometimes I find that if I keep a mental picture (of anything) in my head when I'm trying to sleep that just focusing on that one picture, not letting it change at all helps me to fall asleep. Chamomile tea is really good too and keeping a pillow stuffed with lavender on your bed helps alot too. Good luck.

Insomnia can be cured very simply by a change in diet. Eat 3 to 5 meals per day, NO caffeine, no man-made sugar. A really good rule of thumb are things that grow out of the ground only in their most natural state (fruits, veggies, and nuts) and lean meats that are not processed (fish and chicken.) I know it sounds ridiculous and even hard with our society today, but I have been doing this "diet" (which is actually just natural, how humans were intended to eat) since new Years, and I can not even begin to tell you how unbelieveably healthy and refreshed and energized I feel. Its crazy. And I get better sleep than I ever have in my life. It is very worth it, do it for six weeks and you wont even want to go back to eating the junk that most Americans eat. I promise. But just a word of caution... dont cheat... you will be sick and miserable. The one time that I had to eat fast food it made me SO SICK... big eye opener to how nasty the stuff is. Seriously, try it for six weeks, youll see what I mean.
