Kabbalah is a sect of Judiasm and is increasingly popular with celebrities (ie. Madonna). The red bracelet is supposed to ward off bad karma, but since he's about to die, he's making a tongue-in-cheek joke about how it obviously doesn't work.

Kabala bracelet is bascially a red piece of string that when worn "protects you from bad karma" everything bad was happening to that guy so in frustration he threw it off because he was obviously not getting any good karma so the Kabala bracelet was not working.

Some famous people, particularly Madonna, got involved in a kind of non-Jewish study of Kabbalah (a Jewish mystical system). She (and others) were seen wearning bracelets made of red string that were supposed to convey good luck or something like that.
If you search for "kaballah red bracelet" you'll find lots of links. One is http://www.judaism.com/redstring/index.asp.

"Kabbala" literally means "receiving", in the sense of a "received tradition", and is sometimes transliterated as Cabala, Kabbala, Qabalah, or other permutations.
