American Sign Language - it is a communication system used by many deaf and non-verbal people. When teaching non-verbal children to read though they often use "exact English" as ASL does not use things such as "a", "an", "the" and other small words.

ASL is the acronym for over 100 different things. One is American Sign Language. Go to the following web site and click "acronyms", enter the letters and a long list (7 pages) will come up with different meanings....Good Luck...
