pack now, buy now, prepare now. It's never too early. Also now is a great time to buy that coming-home outfit, because being so close to easter, there is a much better selection than at any other time of the year.
What's the rush? The rush is, you won't feel like even moving a hair on your body once you get farther along.
So just go with instinct, pack those bags, and get all the rest of the shopping done.
PS: for some reason second pregnancies seem to be so much worse than first ones. I am not even gonna gamble with a third!

Never too soon! Peace of mind that you are ready for anything is the best.
You should pack:
-Lots of comfy and loose clothing (I ended up being in the hospital for a week and I didn't pack enough!)
-Shoes that you know are a bit big on you (I had to leave barefoot since I was so bloated from being on an iv for a week that my shoes didn't fit)
-Clothing and accesories for the baby (My hospital just gave my son a white shirt)
-A pillow if you have one you really like
-Toiletries (buy travel size items that you can throw in the bag now)
-Camera and batteries
-If you are going to breastfeed bring items you would like to have for that
-Books, Magazines, Games (sometimes its a long wait for the baby to make its appearance)
-Anything that will help you through labor (I brought a back massager that really helped me a lot)
-Clothing and toiletries for a significant other or whomever is going to stay with you in the hospital.
Hope this helps, good luck!

I'm 37 weeks with my 2nd, and got the urge to pack at 31 weeks, and did it. I went into preterm labor 2 weeks later. Of course, we were so freaked out we forgot the bag, and though they stopped my labor, I was there all weekend and wished I had the stuff in my bag!
I like packing early because then, as you think of things, you can throw em in the bad instead of being in a hurry.
Besides the obvious, I'm taking a digital and disposable camera, chapstick and ponytail holders, onesies for the baby cuz I hate the little shirts at the hospital : ) , and heaven help me, MY OWN PILLOWS! When I went in this last time, I literally could not sleep because the bed was so uncomfortable. Bring your guy one, too, if he's gonna be with you, and change for the vending machine.
I say if you have the urge, pack, if only to make yourself feel better : )

Never. I went in for a check up with my OB a month before my little girl was due. I had been on bedrest for 3 1/2 months with PIH and toxemia. She took one look at me and said "let's go have a baby today". I went to the hospital with NOTHING and my mom had to go home and pack my junk. My hubby was at Fire Academy in San Angelo, TX and almost didn't see her be born.
As far as what to bring:
Comfy jamas, toothbrush/paste, a lotion that you like, brush, stuff you would pack if you were going on an overnight. Plus the babies stuff. The second time around, I also took my breast pump because I knew how much milk I would produce... sounds sick, but the first time I pumped it was 34 oz. (Not joking. I HAD gynormous ones.) A bathrobe is a good thing too. :)

I never packed a bag as I had my baby at home and I didn't want to tempt fate.
However I don't think it can ever be too early, it's only going to sit there, right? The only problem is you might dip in and out of it if you pack things you use all the time, and then end up leaving them at home when the time comes. So if you're packing anything like that (shampoos, lotions, etc) I suggest you get a duplicate item for you bag.
Hope that helps.

In my opinion, there is no time that is too soon to pack for the hospital, because you never know when you might have to go. If was in your shoes, I would keep a bag in the trunk of my car, and maybe even one somewhere else, just in case. These days, you never really know what will happen at any given time.
