I have 5 years back office, administration and research experience. I fancy a chnage in career and have seen an advertisment for a trainee recruitment consultant which asks 'preferbly for sales experience' Just want to find out what are my chances of getting an interview. I have a very strong educational background, and believe using my experience would do well in such a role.

Recruiting has more to do with gut instinct and the ability to persevere. If you meet those qualifications, this is one profession where a little pestering to the manger and you will get your foot in the door.

Good luck!

If you're warm and breathing, they'll not only interview you, chances are they'll hire you. It's a high-turnover profession; requesting a sales background is smart because there are a lot of similarities (commission-based, lots of churn, cold calling.) It's pretty easy to learn the basics, and is really more a question of aptitude.

Good luck!
