Ive never stolen a thing! But at this one store they follow me around, watch me like a hawk, and make it soooo obvious! And the thing that bugs me is I usually spend like 50-100 dollars everytime I go into that store! But theres different people who work cashier and work showroom, so the showroom ppl dont know that, but im like "what the hell!, why do they just follow me!?!?"
I'm just a typical 20 year old girl, long brown hair, green eyes, 5'4, typical dressing...so dont say its my appearance. Urgh Idk, it makes me so frustrated, and before you say race, im white.

they do that to me too!!!!! i finally had to confront the people about harassing me while i was shopping in this one store. the store manager was called and i explained the situation to him calmly. he apologized and gave me a $50 store credit. i don't know what happened to the employees who were harassing me, but i never saw those employees ever again. and i shop there ALOT. so my advice is confront them and definitely use the harassment angle. talk to the manager if need be. you are the customer and you fund their paycheck, they need to be more respectful.

You should play with them. Gotta be careful not to do anything that could actually get you into trouble, but find stuff to mess with their minds.
Get an Army Surplus Walkie Talkie and pretend like it is your cell phone.
Walk backwards thru the entire store so you can look at them while they follow you.
Start ducking behind the aisles and see if you can lose them. Even better, if you could go do that and then follow them.
Go up to them and talk about how crappy the store has become lately and how they seem to only hire the stupidest people. Pretend like you don't know the person works there. Don't get vulgar or use profane language, but royally bash the quality of the workers.
Get a nun outfit and wear that and see if you get the same treatment. Even better, go in the morning as a nun and go in later in the day as yourself and see if you can get followed the second time.
Bring a video camera and document the people following you. If someone asks, say you are doing a class project about consumers or something. A clipboard with some relevant papers would be helpful, like you are doing a survey.
Go in there with 5 or 6 friends of similiar age and dress. Walk together as a gang until you get the attention of one of the snoops. Then break up and each person goes in a different direction. Regroup later and repeat.
Get a kazoo and hum out different showtunes while you are looking at the clothes.
If you want to step a bit in the raunchy side, get an electric whoopie cushion that makes flatulent noises at the push of a button. Discretely set it off from time to time and smile like you are embarrassed and look at the person and say "Sorry, I had burritos for lunch." Repeat. Don't forget to do a little physical acting while you are generating these noises.
Spend a long time in there looking at stuff. Then go to the lady and ask her if you can help her. Don't say that you are an employee. If she asks, tell her you come there all the time and that you know the store like the back of your hand. See how she reacts to that.

I don't know. Maybe it's your age, dress or race? Maybe it's a combination of things. It's annoying, especially when you're not doing anything wrong and spending a lot of money in the store. Unless you have physical proof, I think it's hard to prove that a crime or something has been committed. You can verbally complain and write letters, but that probably won't do anything. You can be obnoxious by picketing outside of the store, calling a lawyer, writing a letter to a newspaper, and etc.

the comparable ingredient happens to my 17 3 hundred and sixty 5 days previous son. He wears darkish outfits, is under the age of 25, and has a wallet chain that looks like it got here off a bike. He grow to be extremely harm by utilising the profiling until eventually I had him go into the comparable shop in a pair of Dockers and a polo. They watched him much less, yet they nevertheless watched him- because of the fact he could no longer restoration the actuality that he grow to be nevertheless under the age of 25. shops ought to shop an eye fixed on the those that are in the communities that statistically thieve the main. Catching thieves is how they shop their company worthwhile. that's unlucky, yet a actuality of existence.

maybe they watch others too, not just you. If you're not doing anything wrong, then you shouldn't worry about it. The ones that actually complains the most are the ones that actually steals or plans to steal. Just my experience working retail.
The answerer above is right, maybe employees notice you looking at them all the time, making them want to see what the heck you're doing. My advice, leave the store if you don't like it.

Lovelee's answer sound very good. Will it work for you - you won't know until you try it.
One thought though - if you have picked out any items and they are in your hand (on your arm) when you turn to confront those people say to them "As long as you are going to follow me, make yourselves useful. Carry these for me"
Good Luck

Maybe they find it suspicious that you're more concerned about finding out who's watching you than perusing the merchandise.
Just a thought.
