Did you goto control panel under add / remove try that first.I use Mcaffe and find it perfect. Firewall Pro is top of my list .Program very simple.If you still have a prob ,disconnect from internet /remove avg/system restore process (go back to an earlier system checkpoint )/control panel add /remove find mcaffe remove all mcaffe programs (look through whole list)Install avg then update.

Make sure you have disabled it before you try and remove it. It will try its hardest not to be deleted, otherwise it won't be very good at its job! Are you using add remove programs under the control pannel, also there may be other mcafee products that need removed first, take a look at the list of installed programes for any more!

Specifically, HOW did you "delete" McAfee ? Completely removing an
antivirus program requires at least 2 "Steps" ; "uninstall" from
"Add or Remove Programs" AND the use of a program's "Removal
Tool". The "Removal Tool" for McAfee's 2006 products is at :

Have you gone to the control panel, then to 'add/remove programes', then look for any mcaffe programs and clicked remove?

goto control panel click add/remove programs scroll down to mcafee click remove.
if that doesnt help contact mcafee through there website

try going to my computer, local disc c, program files you can delete it there but it can not be running when you delete it
