a turtle any day i got a lot and when they want they are gone into the pond in a flash

and they are much bigger than snails so the distance of their paces is much more

I think this question would need to be better defined. Faster in what capacity. A sea turtle would indeed outpace any snail in covering distance however some snails have incredibly fast attributes as well. Conus snail can launch a tiny venemous barb at prey at a very high velocity one I doubt even a snapping turtle bite could hope to match. Also to be considered is the matter of scale. Some aquatic snails and slugs are relatively quick when there size is taken into account. I mean anyone would say a human is faster than a cockroach but when scale is taken into account the cockroach would put us to shame. I guess what i'm saying is that perspective is important as is not generalizing the term "faster".

Just based on the general characteristics, the turtle will outpace the snail ... regardless of the species that is being compared.

Turtle, because they aren't coated in that nasty slime, and they actually have legs. But, like Eric said, it depends on both the turtle species and the snail species, as well as the size.
