I found out last weekend that I am pregnant, but when do I need to see the midwife? or do I see the doctor first?

if you're in the UK the docs won't normally see you until you're 8 weeks gone. then they will arrange for your midwife to contact you or give you a contact number to call her.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Make a doctor's appointment and they will do the rest.
There's a good chance your GP won't bother testing you again as home kits are so reliable - mine didn't anyway.

I went to doctor's at five weeks and then had to wait until 12 weeks for a scan - longest wait of my life. So probably no rush to make GP appointment.

You go to your GP first and they suppose to make your first appointment with midwife then midwife will tell when to come back.
Congrats& take care of both you now!

The surgery that I work in you are seen at 8 wks as there is nothing they can really do for you before then, and you must hand a urine sample in to your GP surgery before seeing the midwife

most doc wont see you til 8 weeks unless you have had previous issues with previous pregnancies. As long as you are taking good care of yourself, prenatal vitamins a must, then there is no reason to see him or even a mid wife before that....but have you choosen weather your gonna go natural, no drugs or are you thinking maybe epidural and stuff..that may make a difference on who you should go see..doc for sure if that is the route..but in you are layed back, wanna go natural & no drugs then def midwife...unless there are some risks durning the pregnancy....good luck...heres to a noneventful beautiful pregancy!

You should call the doctor to schedule the appointment now. He/she will tell you when you should come in. Early prenatal care is important, so I always went in as soon as I found out I was pregnant.

I don't know anything about a midwife........but my Dr normally sees me at 10 weeks. I do get my script for the prenatals but don't have anything else done until 10-12 wks.

You can call and make the appointment now....but they probably will not see you until you are 8-12 weeks.
