if it is a soul mate... should it matter... she is 31, never married (had long term relationships). Has kids, but never found 'that match' till now. His kids are 10 years younger then her?

Your question starts out being about 2 guys getting married (a 31 year old man & a 55 year old man) ::cringing::
Glad to read on & find that that was not the case.
If you have a 31 year old WOMAN, & a 55 year old man, true soul mates as you put it, then the quality of the relationship should be permitted to trump the age difference. She just needs to know going in that they are not likely to grow old together. But, what time they get together might very well be priceless. I say give it a chance.

Why do you care if they are both happy then let sleeping dogs lie. Love has no age limit what have you just realized this is the first person you know of that has had a guy 20yrs there senior get married. Older guys marrying younger women has been a norm for decades wake up?

I personally don't believe age matters. I have a step sister that is the same age as my mother and a step mother that is the same age as my maternal grandfather. She seems old enough to know what she wants. Hope this helps.

If she does it for unconditional love so be it but remember anything other than that kind of love will end in heartbreak and loss. This could also effect the children later on in life. Think again and only act on unconditional love...

I'm 27 and in the past have been in relationships with men as old, if not older, than my father. Who cares.

If it's true love then nothing is wrong with it. Age is just a number. If it's not true love and someone has motives then BOTH parties are to blame. They are both adults. We live and learn.

It shouldn't matter, as long as they think they are in love. But they must be sure that they will face alot of social stigma.
