Isnt cold caused by virus ? Then why does a bad weather causes cold ? And does playing in water causes cold/running nose?

I am asking because I took my infant son out for a walk today and the weather was cool and windy although there was sunshine and I am worried if he will catch a lot.

The weather really does not cause a cold....like you said a virus does. Some viruses are just more prevelant in the winter months.

Colds are caused by viruses. Recent studies have found that if you get chilled (going out in the cold without a jacket for example) that you are more likely to get sick because it affects your immune system.

If you dressed your son warm he should be fine. Part of growing up as a child is having a lot of colds. I believe the number of colds the average child gets per year when they are young is 10 or 11. Adults on average catch 5-6.

Bad weather does not cause colds. There are the same amount of viruses in the summer as there are in the winter.
The reason you get sick much more in the winter is because the cold wears down your resistance level.
I don't know what you mean about the water question though.

Colds are caused by viruses. If you dress your son appropriately for the weather then it is good for him to play outside.
