oh plz

i have been happily UNMARRIED for many many moons

and i wouldn't change it for anything
we wear rings said (vows) in the back yrd with a huge bbq,bon fire and fireworks
with all of our friends and family around us

we own a home, trucks and bills

why do you need a piece of paper to tell someone you want to love them forever and ever

the only thing that stupid paper is good for is spending tons of money to get into and out of

the possibility of having married would properly be extremely frightening. it style of looks like a considerable shift in existence-form, and for some it represents "being an person," this is likewise a wierd feeling for many people who nevertheless evaluate themselves as being youthful. even with the undeniable fact that, it is not any longer the case, and as you probable understand, maximum human beings of the artwork has been accomplished already (teenagers, living mutually, etc). At this element, your lives and existence are set, and the workouts are in place. making plans a marriage is a considerable undertaking that in many circumstances demands better than a 12 months of coordination. it is not any longer something that one man or woman does for the different man or woman--they could do it mutually. Your activity is to no longer enable your companion be lazy (no offense to him --me and my friends in superb condition that element era too), and teach him which you adult males would have a astonishing time making plans this mutually and letting your friends and relatives share the affection you 2 have for the different. A coworker stated as quickly as "there are 3 events that all human beings you recognize will carry mutually for: start, wedding ceremony, and dying--on the least you will properly be latest and cognitive for considered one of them." Have your infant join the making plans and the ceremony. you do no longer could be a nag and ask him while he's going to do issues. you will get a extra appropriate reaction in case you initiate making plans it and asserting "that's the place that's going to be. those are the dates they are in a position to do it. i've got turned around 3 which will artwork, enable's talk it over" Many adult males sense like a marriage is for the lady. that's no longer the case nevertheless. Make it exciting and cooperative and tell him you adult males gotta do it by using next summer time and robust good fortune!

it is not strange to be engaged for a long period of time without setting a date. But you do need to ask yourself and him if there is any reason you have not set a date. Fear of commitment, instability in the relationship, or maybe just not having the money to have the wedding you both want. I don't think he will get lazy if he is already doing things, I would worry more if he was already lazy.

If you are putting it off, there are probably reason that you haven't addressed. Either set a date or walk away.

I was engaged TWICE for five years.. and both cases never resulted in marriage. THANK GOD! There were good reasons that were never discussed... wasted lots of time. Now getting married on Aug 11th to a wonderful man and didn't have to wait that long.

lol...you're right, things do change after marriage
but I'm not sure if that means he'll change and be lazy after marriage. I know when I was dating my husband he remembered every important date without every being reminded and was so romantic and bought gifts but as soon as we got married he changed and no longer bothered to remember those days, doesn't even remember my birthday and doesn't remember a gift for me around such days like Christmas, Valentine's Day, and Mothers Day!!!

I think you're just taking so long to set a date because you're unsure of him...all I can say is go with your instincts, if you feel your not ready to set the date yet then go with it, you've got to be sure about marriage because it's such a big decision just like having children are if you haven't already got them with him.

I was dating my Boyfriend for 10 years..we just got married in Sept.
And he is still the wonderful boyfriend I knew & loved...
It doesn't change.
If he is lazy, he will still be lazy...if he is wonderful, he'll still be wonderful.
Being Married has a lot of advantages...

Honey, is this YOU??
I'm in the same boat, I have been together for seven years, engaged for 3 of them and we aren't getting married for another three. Whatever works for all parties concerned now a days I would say hurray.
Is he pushing the vow thing or is he good too? I would think tax time is better too, file separately-more chance of actaully getting something back instead of paying in.

Girl, what is wrong with you?? 5 years is just way too damn long. You had better marry that man because I'm sure some other female has her eye on him. You are sitting here worrying about infantile and minute stuff. Seems like you've got some growing up to do...
