my husband changed his last name right before we got married. i have changed my social security card already. he has now told me he will not change his name, so the last name my card has now is incorrect. is there any way i can change my social security card back to my maiden name? i changed my last name last december.

I'm sure you can just go to your local social securities office and take your birth certificate and some photo Id with your maiden name still valid they will just issue you another in your
maiden name. This makes no sense though if he changed his last name before you married I guess if you had already initiated the name change prior to his it makes sense.
Sorry just a little brain fart.
Congrats and don't sweat the small stuff.

I believe you have to go to court to have your named changed. Check with a lawyer.
