perhaps you should ask how bad is it for you if you wait longer than is advised for the first check on the car.if this is a new car ,when it arrives into the dealer they will probably hook it up to a diagnostic computer which probably goes into a national data base for the dealer which keeps track of warranty work done on the new car anywhere at an authorized repair facility, they can then see if the new car check up was done in a timely fashion,if not and problems exist they can exercise a legitimate right to not warranty all or part of the car,its like a contract between you and them in which you have to fulfill certain criteria in order for them to fulfill their end of the deal. sorry to rain on your parade, don't be so cheap, like the old commercial on TV.you can pay me now or pay me later, usually a lot more

I'm sure you did it no harm. After the first check-up you'll be doing it at 3000 at best. The manufacturers like to get all the start up fluids out of the engine in case there are shavings or other foreign material in the engine from the build. You have an oil filter and it will catch the stuff.
