What do you mean begins with an A or a C? Since it's fancy and Spring started yesterday go with a pale halter top with a tulip skirt hem and slingbacks.

animal-leopard print or other animal insprited print
alligator or crocodile- greenish dress with croc embossed accessories (can be faux)

Dress up as a cat burgalar:
Black trousers, black and white striped top, black goves & hat and a mask or black make up across your face. Could look really good - I did it 4 halloween and everyone loved it!

if by "dress up as A or C" you mean like an apple or a cat, i think it'd be cute to wear a sweet black dress/shoes/accessories and then make ears out of paper and attach them to a headband... voila.... cute cat!
