we get rid of professional politicians and each one of us goes to DC to serve a term or two like the founding fathers intended?

I agree. It's our own fault. We continue to re-elect professional politicians. We say, "Oh, my guy is fine! It's those OTHER guys who are the crooks!"

We ARE the term limit! We must throw the low-lifes out! Every election that passes without our vote, without our rancor showing at the polls just entrenches them into the mentality that they are the Elite, the American Royalty.

Too many, far far too many people can tell you who Marge Simpson is, but couldn't ID Condi rice if she hit them with her car!

We get the government we deserve.

We get the society we deserve. Any mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging welfare cheat can enumerate a dozen civil rights whenever they're asked...but not one could tell you what their civil responsibilities are.

I'm running for local office, and hope to make some changes. it's gonna cost me a bundle, but it's gonna be worth it.

I'd settle for term limits of some sort. We limited the President; now it's Congress' turn.

And yes, changing control of Congress more often has some value in "sweeping out" people as well.
