My kid! He started to actually walk a week before he turned 16 months old. He was late with many things like sitting up and standing too. He wasn't born prematurely either. I heard a baby can start walking any where between 7 months to 18 months old. Most kids start walking within this wide range. Anything more than that is unusual. But as long as they pass those milestones, then that's all that matters.

All babies walk within their own time. My first 3 started walking at just about 12 months. Baby #4 started at 10 months. So it's different with every child.

My daughter starting walking consistently when she was about 14 months...we thought this was late, but her dr said she was completely normal. I think 2 y.o. is the latest I've heard also.

my b/f's daughter is a year and 7 months and she doesnt walk. She was always held and even when she cried they picked her up because she didnt want to learn to crawl. She learned to crawl, but then they used the walker alot which doesnt help babies walk at all! I would say just let your child learn as they do.... sooner or later they will !

They're all so different that it's tough to compare. But if a child reaches milestones late it could be a sign of a delay so keep monitoring and seek early intervention if needed.
