What we do is set up a little play area. You can pay two "gates" that make little fenced in area. It's a great way to have your son near you but playing quietly.
I doubt the indoor swing would support him, really. There are saucers you can buy, but by 15 months he will usually be bored after a few play times with him.
Or better yet, do your work around the house while your son rests.

Have you seen the Jumparoo? It's a floor jumper (it doesn't hang from a doorway like a Johnny Jump Up). I'm not sure what the weight limit is, but it seems much more stable than the jumpers that hang from the doorway and my daughter loves it!

My son LOVED his Johnny Jump Up, in fact he would act depressed if he didn't get his time in his jumper daily. Built GREAT leg muscles. Although, he hit the 24 lb limit around 8 months of age (we have a giant child). I was VERY concerned about him missing his jumper, but when we did take it down he transitioned to walking shortly after and then climbing soon after that so it was the latest cool thing for him. We ended up just putting gates up in front of stairs and the kitchen and let him have free reign of the front room (removing the particularly dangerous items. Slowly we took down barriers (to small flight of stairs....then the desks space.....then the big flight of stairs) and gave him more freedoms as we taught him what was cool and what was not cool to play on or around. He did really well with keeping himself busy and learned quickly what was ok while we were doing work around the house on his own. Granted a couple times we found him jumping on top of the dining room table, or trying to climb a bookshelf off his mini 4 wheeler, but all in all he found new things to do besides swinging/jumping and it was great for graduating into good climbing skills and learning to govern his baby self out in the open. Ultimately, he didn't seem to miss his jumper like I feared he would although he does eyeball the skychair for when he gets to graduate to being big enough to get into it on his own.

You aren't supposed to use the jumper once your baby is able to walk either, though at 15 months your baby may not walk.
However I seriously can't imagine keeping a 15 month old in a jumper anymore. They should be exploring.

Try an Exersaucer. I bought one for my son *he is still too small to use it* The one that I got has a spinning seat, it rocks, tons of toys, and the bottom part is "bouncy" so your baby can bounce on it as well. I bought mine at Walmart for around 50 dollars, but lots of places sell it, as well as online. Check it out here

when my daughter grew out of her jumper, i started putting her in the travelyard. It was small, yet had space for her to play in. I used to take all of her favorite toys and put them in there and just sit her in there to play with them. That way she was stimulating her mind and playing with all of her fun toys, while i did stuff around the house. I STILL have that travelyard and it has been great. Does your child walk now?

How about letting the baby walk around? That's what they make childproofing equipment for. I understand the need for distraction, but give him some toys he like to play with and let him learn to become independent.

No, a swing is free standing. I am not sure about the weight limit on it though. You can try an exersaucer instead.
