Many people choose to accept (and repeat) what's easy for them to hear. And it's often easier to make a lie believable than to get people to actually understand the truth.

Just look around you on the forums for ongoing proof.

This is sooo true...

Start a chain with 2 words....by the time it comes back to you through all the people....

It's your two original words....and things like 'purple monkey dishwasher' added to it.

And NO-ONE will admit to adding to the original.

Lies are like wild-fire....they're completely wild!
