I strongly recommend going directly with Disney or your travel agent to get the ticktes, for several reason.

1). Disney tickets now expire 14 days after the first use, this means that, unless the no-expiration option is added on, the tickets will be no good several weeks or years down the road, but for the next 14 days. Most people don't purchase the no-expiration option, but people will still sell the tickets online that they have used, so you are basically buying an empty ticket.

2). Even if you are getting a ticket that still has days left on it, the tickets are non-transferable. Once you use your ticket the first time, you scan your fingers into a biometrics system so that only you can use that ticket. If you go to the park and use someone elses ticket, you will have to proove that you actually are the person on the ticket, or you will have to buy a new ticket.

3). Aside from the tickets just being a scam and you getting nothing for the money you spend, a lot of what you will find online is going to be a timeshare deal. Basically, you sit through a presentation, usually several hours long, and they will either give you free tickets or a lower rate, or something like that. This is not something I really suggest doing, but if you don't mind it, then it is a good way to get some free tickets.

When you are in Orlando, if you wait to buy your tickets, there will still be a lot of places advertising lower cost tickets. Most of these will be scams or the timeshare deal.

If you buy your tickets from Disney, or a TA, you will get an advance purchase savings. It isn't a huge savings, but it is something. The longer your pass is, the lower your cost is per day, and you can get them for around $30, plus any add ons you do. So, Disney does offer some pretty good rates for tickets.

Also check out Mousesavers, they have a newsletter you can sign up for and get info on discounts and things.

Finally, AAA would be another option. I believe you have to do a 2 or 3 day pass before they offer any savings, however. If you are not a member, make sure you check how much you would actually save and what the cost of membership is. The savings may not be good enough to buy the membership and still save.

Personally, I always book a package with Disney, just so I can ge the dining plan. I go to Disney enough that I could get an AP and be done with it, but I like the dining plan so much I just buy my tickets each time (even though I could have my AP and just buy a one day base to get the dining) So, if you will be staying onsite, look into doing a package. The dining plan can save you 40% off of your food, it is a really great deal and you get a lot of food.

Have a great time!

Please do not. Purchase your tickets instantly from Disney. Here's the nasty mess at the back of the discounted tickets: Sometimes visitors cross to the parks with Park Hoppers or Magic Your Way tickets with a exact quantity of days (from two to ten... and there are 14-day tickets to be had within the UK), and if the visitors didn't use the entire days, 3rd events present them cash for the ones tickets after which they re-promote them. They will mislead you and say that the tickets are professional however they don't seem to be. They even have a procedure that messes up the barcode and enters fake know-how into the laptop. You could get your low priced price tag however this is while it will get unpleasant: while you are seeking to make your biometric fit the price tag at a Disney turnstile. If the turnstile commonly says that the price tag does not fit your finger, the greeter is not going to assist you to in and can direct you to visitor family members, wherein they're going to study an discover out what is improper. Guest family members scans the price tag and suggests while and wherein that price tag has been used and to validate that the price tag in the beginning belongs to you, they're going to ask you which ones parks you've gotten been to, while and at round what time. If your solutions do not fit the know-how within the laptop, Disney reserves the proper to maintain the price tag and you'll be able to become loosing your cash when you consider that the tickets are strictly non-transferable. When you test a price tag into the laptop, they on the whole have a reputation connected to it and Guest Relations will want that individual's ID and if you are no longer that individual, you can not get into the park. You'll both must go out the park or purchase a price tag. It occurs particularly normally and it is unhappy when you consider that simply, folks who purchase the discounted tickets had been lied to. So do not fall for it and purchase the tickets both on-line from the Disney internet site or on the topic park from any Vacation Planning cubicles on the front of each and every park, or at any Disney inn. There are different assets wherein you could get Disney tickets, too, and they're going to be professional however they may not be discounted (besides for the 3 types stated via the girl above me). There's just one rate chart however there are lots of applications and you'll be able to discover out how Disney tickets don't seem to be quite THAT steeply-priced, plus they're valued at the cash. Have a paranormal excursion! ....and critically, under no circumstances promote your tickets. Read the exceptional print at the back of each and every price tag. You purchased it however it is nonetheless Disney's estate.

For the most part, Disney does not offer discount tickets. Disney will offer Florida resident discounts for those who live in Florida or they may offer a slight discount on multiple day tickets. If you have the stomach to sit through a 90 minute presentation at one of the area timeshares, you can get attraction tickets for little to nothing in cost and sometime free. Other discounts are offered to the military and their families, I have even seen some companies offer discounts to their employees.
Enjoy your trip

Are you looking for a package deal, like hotels, or multiple parks? Or is it just for one specific park, like the Magic Kingdom or Epcot? How long do you want to stay?

I found a list of current Disney discounts, but if I had a little more information, I might be able to help a little more.

I don't know where you plan on staying but you just may find that booking a package (room and tickets included) directly through Disney at a value resort just may be the least expensive way for you to visit the parks. Besides there are perks if you stay at one of their resorts like transportation to and from the parks and also extended hours at one park each day for guests staying at their resorts. If you're flying in they will also shuttle you to and from your resort. I wish your family a lovely time. :)
