Modern upbeat songs that can be sung by a female choir, along the lines of songs from Sister Act, Bohemian Rhapsody, anything would be good, a total range of stuff.
We are planning to overhall our school choir and move ito stuff that is fun to sing and to listen to, things that get your toes tapping etc.
Would be great if songs could include possible solos and/or possibility of combining with an orchestra or strings section. Muchos Gracias xx

try looking up sheet music under the heading of female barbershop quartet. You get standards as well as some very up-beat modern stuff arranged for 4-part women's chorus.
I like Sweet Honey in the Rock, a gospel group, even though it's mixed chorus, simply for the arrangements by Dr. Ysaye Barnwell, an African-american woman of great nobility and talent.
I like to find sheet music at a-cappella.com, a mail-order business out of Maine. they are highly competent, friendly, punctual, and full of interesting tips for choruses of all sorts.

pick any song you all agree on and make it work.Its music twist it turn it make it what you want.
