Why do a lot of restaurants want the customer to present their coupons (i.e. Two for One, etc.) before ordering their meals? Is it because then you will get an inferior quality or smaller meal than if you paid full price?

No the reason they do it is so that when they enter your meal choice in the computer the price gets changed according to your coupon.

Once a server adds your meal selection, the price is added as well, if they get the coupon AFTER they enter your order they have to go in, void the order and enter it with the correct price. It's a pain in the butt...

Because so much of what is done is done on computers now. A coupon affects how they input the order. It slows everything down if you have to find a manager to void something.

No, that way we don't have to re-ring your order. If that happened then you would get a lower quality meal :)
Besides, it's polite.
