tropospheric ozone
volatile organic compounds (VOCs)
peroxyacyl nitrates (PAN)
aldehydes (R'O)
This stuff can't be good for you...

Good question!
I was born in Los Angeles-Back in the late 60's through the 70's the smog would get so bad we would have days off school...They have cleaned it up quite well. It can still be bad on days but I think they have been doing something right.
I agree thoug- they need to cut it down much more

The reason that we poduce smog is because we produce a lot of other things. We would have no smog if we wouldn't use electricity, wouldn't use our cars, or build them, if we shut down all of our factories, if we stopped using oil,coal, or wood for heat.
The stone age people had no smog. If we all went back to stone-age living, we wouldn't have smog either.
