Depending on where you have this fish, i.e. in your room, move him to the kitchen where you don't have to look at him if you don't like him. Feed him once a day because everything must eat of course. problem solved.

If you did not want the fish why did you take it? When you accept responsibility for an animal you should be sure you can provide a good home for the animal. If you are going to neglect it or don't have a proper tank for it you should see if anyone you know with a fish tank wants one, maybe call a local aquarium society to see if someone there wants it, or trade it in at a local fish store. Keep in mind that silver dollars can live ten or more years, grow fairly large (6 inches), and will eat any live plants in the tank. Whatever you do, do not release it into the wild.

Well,since you're being irresponsible...
My suggestion would be to put the little guy on your local craigslist or freecycle. If you're anywhere near me I'd take him (Fayetteville,north carolina) and he could join my ever-growing well-loved menagerie.
