I'm going to buy my friends xbox, but there is something wrong with the drive. When the xbox has been powered down for a while and you push the open button, the drive sounds like it tries to open, but doesn't. If you press the button once or twice more it will open. Also, when the drive closes there is a mechanical whir, or grind, or something that beeps once. Is this a problem and is there a way to fix it. If this means the console will go bad soon, I guess I won't buy it. Please help.

The grinding noise also occurs if there is a disk in or not, I'm not sure what it is, but I'm more concerned about the drive not opening for the first few tries.

im assuming you mean an xbox 360. Mine does the same thing.. i don't know why but its been doign it for a while with no problem. Annoying though. The grind noise you hear we figured out was the starting and stopping of the disc. If you're concerned don't buy it.. love mine though

confident, it look the the Xbox does get fantastically warm and it could warmth up an entire room although, that's not stable for a the container to get too warm as in simple terms like a working laptop or pc, you may shop it cool. Open a window or greater useful yet, positioned a small fan geared in direction of the container to maintain it cool, so it does not over warmth

I'm warning you now, if something doesn't work and you don't have experience with fixing it, then don't buy it.
