Wait no high school diploma but she's in college? Ohhhhhhhhhhhkay that's strange.

If you wanna be a dancer be a dancer but don't say the only reason you do it is so you can support you and yours. Admit that you do it cause you like the fast money, no shame in that but don't front on it okay?

Besides as long as you feel no shame in your game why do you CARE what other people think if they aren't payin your bills don't pay any attention to 'em

There are plenty of other jobs to take that would be condusive to raising a child and going to school, but if dancing (I'm assuming you mean in an "adult" sense) is the only way you think you can support your child, then you should do it. The lifestyle is lousy, money isn't always great, your child needs someone to watch over him/her while you are dancing - possibly late hours - and dance clubs aren't always the friendliest environment. Drugs, alcohol/physical abuse and violence do occur sometimes, so hopefully you are a strong and smart enough person to stay away from that sort of thing.

I think that if someone dedicates themsleves to something to provide for her child and herself AND goes to school that is honorable. Not many people are that dedicated to their future and the future of their children. Plus dancing, which I am assuming is one of your passions is even more of a plus if you enjoy waking up and going to work each day- because more than half of Americans would admit they absolutely hate their jobs (which they went to college for).

Keep up the hardwork and Good luck!

i think that if thats what she has to do to survive and support herself, then i have no problem with that at all. who am i to say oh thats awful, oh shes a mess, and stuff like that??

i have a friend who is dancing to support herself and her child, she only completed one year of college, and she doesnt plan on going back, but im still her friend because she is doing what she has to do to support her lil' girl and as long as that is being done, shes great in my eyes..

nobody "needs" to be a dancer. usually someone "wants" to be a dancer because they like attention, have low self-esteem, have no self-respect, want fast money, have too much pride for a labor job or government assistance.....or something of the sorts. you're not going to get a definitive yes or no answer for this question from the people on here. you're better off asking advice of someone close to you that you respect or doing some self reflection.

there is nothing wrong with it. if i was a bit thinner, i would have done it to work my way through college.

the person would be doing it to get themselves to a better place and it definitely pays ALOT better than mcdonalds or bk. just don't be sucked in by it and lose your self pride.

don't let people say crap, a job is a job.

I honestly think if that is what a girl has to do, then that's what she's gotta do.

Look, it's hard to get a job when you're young, have a kid yourself and going to college. If a girl loves to dance and loves doing it, why not??

There are other jobs. Would she be able to look her child in the face and not fear that the child has heard something about her at school? Hmmm...something to consider.
