JudiM's answer is good--the animal that was cloned would be the parent--the original animal. The "clone" would be the child or the offspring.

"Twin" is better in terms of its genetic relationship, and in fact, identical twins are clones, and some cloning techniques entail splitting zygotes or blastocysts--essentially producing twins.

A biologist pointed out to me once that the children of two sets of married identical twins were genetically brother and sister, even though we would think of them as cousins.

good question.
i would call think the cloned animal is the offspring of the original. in otherword its child.
