If a guy does not openly object to homosexuality and has no fear of gay people, but feels weird when working on an assignment with a gay guy and doesnt let guys touch him in any non-playful way (playful would be like... well... guy stuff), is he homophobic? and just simple things too. 2/4 of me thinks its normal, 1/4 of me thinks hes homophobic and 1/4 of me just feels like asking a question. i figure that mabye im just weird since i dont mind it so long as its someone i know or its not intentionally gay.

maybe slightly, but it sounds like he's trying to be civil about it. I'd respect his boundaries if I were you, since he seems to respect your ways as much as he can.

I think I am the guy you just described. Part of me is like I don't care do what you do. But if I have to work with a gay guy in that situation it's a little wierd.

I'd be very professional thou prolly too professional, like no B.S. maybe a little room for joking around. More like a just business attitude.

That would be my way of showing respect, Hey I'll do the task at hand with you. Just because I wouldn't get personal with the guy doens't mean I'm a Homophobe by any stretch.

As long as he doesn't go do something like wipe off his hand immediately when the other guy shakes it, or stand six feet away when they are talking he probably isn't homophobic. Most people fear what they don't understand so to act a little weird is their natural instinct because they aren't sure how to act.

It's homophobic. Gays don't carry cooties. And most probably aren't particularly interested in maneuvering you into the sack, either. Relax. The're just like people.

No, he's not homophobic. Many people simply do not like their 'personal space' invaded.

homophobia is a word invented to villify persons who do not support the gay " cause" It is designed to make it look like the non-supporter has a mental problem rather than the other way around.
