Currently, they stand a better chance against the Suns. The Lakers were supposed to be the winners of last years matchup between the 2 teams in the playoffs, until things went wrong. Against the Spurs, the Lakers don't have that sam roster they had when they used to kick the Spurs behinds. I think the Spurs right now are too experienced for the young Lakers team. The Lakers stand a better chance against the Suns. It's a bad matchup, either way.

It's like choking on a grape, u're not sure whether it's gonna be suicide or not. People should hold judgment until the last 2 weeks of the season. Either way Lakers are in way over their head. I was expecting them to get the 4 seed earlier this season, but they disappointed me yet again. If they're up against San Antonio they have a shot because Lakers' starting lineup should know well enough how the Spurs play and they've beaten them before.
I think i'd prefer them go against the Suns though just because the Lakers are bigger than them and if they can slow the tempo on their possessions then they can take the series pretty far (i.e. last season's playoffs). But the Suns are a much better team, so i wouldn't count on the Lakers making past the first round (though i'll be rooting for them).

I think that would be a suicide to go against the Spurs, no offense but who can defend on Duncan? No one!! But their biggest downfall will come from a lack of defense. The Lakers do not play defense at all, if they do then they are not good at it. And against a defense-minded team like the Spurs that could play any style of basketball {uptempo & defensive} they would not stand a chance. Plus be remembered that the playoffs are not the regular season, teams step up their game during the PO so it won't be easy.
I think they will have a better chance to pass against the Suns, they have a slight chance to even beat them because last year they proved they could by bringing the series to 7 games. Plus like them, the Suns cannot defend! But last year there was no Amare!!!In addition, going to the Western Conference Finals 2 years in the row must have made them hungry. And those count for something. If they figure out a way to deal with Amare Stoudemire, if they really want it and if everyone is healthy then I think they could pass the Suns.

Lakers i opt for the Lakers vs Suns so the Lakers can avenge both previous season playoff loses to the Suns. The Lakers were unable to compete with the Suns the previous 2 seasons because of an eco-friendly crew. Now, with the addition of Gasol and Fisher, the Lakers receives redemption antagonistic to the Suns in this years playoffs. Kobe and the triangle offence will beat the run and gun offence. The addition of Shaq will teach to be a waste. Then Shaq will be backbiting the Suns interior the offseason because he were given his *** kicked by technique of Kobe and the Lakers. Then the Suns will comprehend that do not f**** with kobe and the zen draw close a.ok.a phil jackson.

Supprisingly not. This LA team has beautiful team chemistry and Phil has them working beautifully. There best chance is against the Suns because their fast style of play and lack of D plays directly into the hands of the already unstoppable Kobe. Either way it would be a six to seven game series.
PS I believe the Lakers punished the Suns the first half of the playoffs last year.

i think they have a better chance against phoenix, because the spurs have alot of experience in versing the lakers and kobe bryant in the playoffs they know how to slow him down. I woud say the lakers would lose in 5 to either team. They may be able to take phoenix to 6 games at most.

It all depends on their health.
If they can get Lamar and Luke to stay healthy, along with getting Kwame's ankle back, they'll be a decent match for either the Suns or the Spurs.
They were only one game from toppling the Suns last year, and even though the Suns have Amare, if the Lakers' big men stay healthy they should be fine.

the would have a better chance against the suns because they have a smaller team unlike the spurs who have giants in there front court but the lakers will lose any way they are to young.
