What's a trinket?

i keep hearing the word trinket. great word. but what does it mean?
someone told me that when you smoke trinkets, you're smoking marijuana.

The last time I checked, a 'trinket' was a small gift, sundry or souvenir. I don't know it if means anything at all in today's drug culture, but I could be wrong.
