How much does a home pest control contract cost?

I'm thinking about companies like Terminix, Orkin, etc. Has anyone had or currently have contracts like this? It is a 2 bedroom home with moderate trees surrounding.

I would suggest looking instead of for cheap (where you will get spray spray spray), I would look for someone who knows about Integrated Pest Management (IPM) which uses least toxic alternatives, unless pesticides really are the way to go.

You should ask yourself what type of pests you have, and whether it is worth risking poison (insecticides are often cholinesterase inhibitors which inhibit human's neurons too) to you, your family, your pets. If you go cheap, you risk having someone who doesn't know what they are doing, spraying more pesticide for more effect (it doesn't work that way).

Anywho, I guess my point is...you get what you pay for. You pay more for knowledge, and that oftentimes is someone who will use IPM, least toxic measures, and therefore less spray. I put a site in the sources that gives you a lot of non-toxic & effective ideas to control the pest of your choice!

Mine was ProPacific Pest Control for $30 per month. I also had the "rodent" control package which was $7 of that per month. They would treat the yard and inside, but I mostly had the yard sprayed once a month except for when I had an ant invasion. I found that my package did not include bees and I had to call a different company to eradicate a hive from my eaves. Mine is a two story home and I'm on almost an acre but they only sprayed the area where I have grass and gardens which is about 1/2 of the property. The initial contract was for a year and I extended it for a two year contract if they kept the price the same (they were trying to increase the service by $10 per month).

I have service with a company called Official Pest Prevention out of Sacramento, Ca. (You didn't state where you live, so I don't know if they are local for you.) They come out every other month and spray. They will come out more if you need them to. They will spray inside and outside. I recently had a rodent problem, my guy was out several times in the 2 weeks it took to get the creatures under control and out of our house. There was no extra charge for this. I got in on a special a few years back. I pay $34.50 per month. I live in a 3 bedroom house. I am very satisfied with the service. Their tollfree number is 1-877-711-2847. They service more than just Sac., I live in Fairfield. I don't know how wide spread they are, but if they aren't available in your area, they may be able to recommend a sister company. We don't have bugs; no spiders, no roaches, no ants and we now no longer have rodents!
