If you know the battery is not low and or you don't have the charger then all you have to do is hold Play and Menu at the same time for few seconds, you're screen will turn black and have a silver apple(hard to see) in the middle. Press play again after waiting 20 seconds and basically that restarts your iPod. If that does not work than you will need to take it back on warranty.(happens all the time)

Try pressing the middle button and the play/pause button down at the same time. It resets the ipod.

Plug it in the charger and leave it. It will come back on. Your battery might be low. Mine does this alot and I just plug it in and within a couple of hrs its back on/

let the battery run out then plug it in into the charger it will be good as new.
